Hey gang, I'm looking for a new full-time role for the first time since… I think 2012?

I've been building software for more than 20 years, I have deep experience with a variety of languages and platforms, and I've led multiple successful engineering teams.

I'm open to remote work, or in-person local to Pittsburgh, PA.

I appreciate any boosts you're willing to give.

Ok, I'm unofficially looking for work. I haven't _yet_ had the axe fall, but when the whole company is all-in on LLMs, the VP Eng expresses frustration at low velocity over the last month, and the team lead quotes Fable output stating it could do the work in an afternoon...

I should start mapping out the exits for this place. Fifteen years next month, and it could well end quite ignominiously.

North of 20 years' experience in Web development, so I can go from TypeScript/React down to nuts-and-bolts CSS and back; backend I've been a PHP-head the whole time, but have been known to write Ruby and Python in my travels.

Based in Manchester, UK; available to work worldwide (wherever local regulations allow contracting to a consulting limited company); full-remote would be a stipulation, but open to annual meetups etc.

And no LLM usage would be the other stipulation.

If there's work out there in renewable energy or permacomputing, I'd be especially open thereto.

[Edited to add a skills section, which I'd somehow missed]

Eh; let’s do another post. Hi friends, I am currently looking to get a job that will sponsor a visa for a US citizen. My primary skillset is in the land of SRE, devops, and related modern-ops things, but I also have some experience doing full stack dev w/ Typescript and even skill with C and C++. I know some Rust but don’t have formal experience there.
I’m looking for a gig in any country that looks safer for trans people than the US right now. I currently only know English (native) and Japanese (approx. JLPT N3 level, am actively studying), but am willing to learn whatever. At this time I only have a US citizenship and would need sponsorship. In a year or two, I expect my spouse will have acquired an EU citizenship, but has not as yet.

Right. A ftiend of mine is trying to find a junior developer role in an EU country for a 19yo trans woman with an EU passport who has to escape abusive parents. She's at the "Writes her own operating system" level, so not your average 19yo.

I'm looking for work, please boost!

I'm a senior software engineer with 35 years of experience. I've worked across an unusually wide range of domains: mobile game backends, privacy-preserving data platforms, high-throughput COVID testing infrastructure, email and account systems, e-payment processing, job marketplace systems, and bioinformatics. I pick up new domains quickly and have a track record of doing it repeatedly. I understand how to turn business needs into engineering requirements.

I've worked remotely since the 1990s and can operate with minimal supervision. I don't need hand-holding to find the right problem to solve. Several of my most valued projects were self-directed: I identified the need, built the thing, and shipped it.

Some of the technologies I'm familiar with include: Python, Perl, TypeScript/JavaScript, Haskell, Go, C, Java. Postgres, MySQL, SQLite. Flask, SQLAlchemy. AWS (Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, EC2). Docker, Git. Github and Gitlab.

I've also repeatedly picked up new languages and stacks as needed: Haskell for differential privacy research, TypeScript for a 24/7 AWS Lambda system, Flask for my most recent employer. I've become productive with new systems over and over, and I can do it quickly.

I'm also a published author (Higher-Order Perl, Morgan Kaufmann), longtime blogger, and conference speaker with a reputation for making complex ideas clear.

                                                  My résumé is at plover.com/~mjd/cv/Mark%20Jaso

let's see, how can I get myself 'd

Hi! I'm an AuDHD programmer / math teacher / infosec researcher who is looking for an online job! I've done games coding, studied game design / balance, taught PICO-8 and Scratch, hobbied in Blender, contributed to Processing's IDE, earned a JPT1 cert from TryHackMe, and taught a whole lot of kids how to do some math and coding and digital media.

I'd love to get a start on pentesting or other offensive security research with an experienced team who would like a new voice. I learn quickly, I hyperfocus hard on tricky problems, and I have excellent written communication skills. (Yes, I'm willing to write up reports after a security assessment.) I value knowing how things work and helping others know as well.

I am capable of sounding professional, but honestly I'm not going to sound *too* professional right now because a lilttle bit of shitposting voice seems like the only way to ensure that people know you're actually writing down your human thoughts in your own human words these days.

anyway plz send me jobs to apply to or stuff! k thx

I am more and more actively looking to find a new career opportunity. I've been stuck classified as a senior engineer for most of my working life. Every employer promising career progression; never following through.

Would love a gig where I can mentor and actually know that my words won't get fed directly into a chat interface.

Over the years I've worked in Public Broadcasting, Game Development, Web Agencies, Education Technology, Museum Experience Design, Open Source Development

I have been remote first for almost a decade now. Basically a hipster-wfh. I do well with async practices and keeping people in the loop.
