hey-ho! i have a weird suspicion that in the perspective of 2-3 months i’ll be actively looking for a job (so not YET, but with how the market is looking like, I prefer to announce myself ahead of time)
are YOU looking for…
if so, then please get in touch! CV available upon request. part time / flexible hours preferred, I want enough funds to stay afloat, not to get rich (read: i’m exceptionally cheap) #GetFediHired
Every job post I see involves AI 🙃
Let me know if you see one that doesn't.
I'm looking.
boostedBoosts are appreciated 🙇♂️
Hello all! I lost my steady gig a year ago, projects from my network are running out, and I need a job.
I’ve worked as an iOS dev for 15 years on cool apps like Camera+, but also building and running web and backend systems. Objective-C/Swift, but also TypeScript/next.js, PHP/WordPress, whatever fits the job!
I can work remote globally or locally in Japan (have PR)
Resume, Portfolio, LinkedIn etc are all at https://kalleboo.com/me

For open source techies in London that know ML frameworks, a bunch of programming languages, and like "highly competitive compensation", G-Research is looking for an open source evangelist 👀

Any #php devs looking for a new gig?
Small inclusive/supportive company, good at the "life" bit of work/life balance
UK only, but remote with "1-day/mon in Bristol" encouraged - this frequency can be negotiated in either direction!
45k to 55k, pretty standard benefits
I'm on the ops side, but work very closely with this role - my DMs are open you have questions not answered by the job desc:

🧵 1/3 After 10 years working on infrastructure provided by US cloud companies, I'm seeking advice for a career change.
I'd like to work on digital sovereignty, anything from European companies trying to be less dependent on interests outside the EU, government digital sovereignty or data sovereignty projects for individuals. Infrastructure or service layer, I have experience as engineering manager, tech lead or individual contributor and I would be fine working as any.
Edit: Reboosting from November. Still looking for work. Thank you!
So I lost my job yesterday, which means I'm looking to #GetFediHired! I've been a Senior Software Dev for ~8 years, but I've been programming for more than 20 years.
I have lots of experience with C, C++, C#, Python, JS, x86 and other assembly. I've touched a lot of languages on several platforms. I have worked a bunch in simulation and robotics (ROS), open-source software, and 2D and 3D graphics.
Hoping to work with interesting people on interesting projects. Diversity and accessibility are very important to me. Remote work is preferred. I am in Canada.
Edit: Getting ahead of this now. No GenAI cultism please. No late-stage corpo ad-serving, data scraping, always online, crypto stuff either.
Thank you in advance, I love you!
We're hiring at my workplace.
If you are interested in working
- in a science-adjacent nonprofit
- in #python
- doing web backend and data engineering stuff
- *not using generative AI*
- remote work friendly
Please drop me a line! Your application won't skip the queue but I can give you a boost.
I rarely get a chance, since we're so small, but would love to help someone on here #GetFediHired !
Please feel free to boost for reach, or forward to your friends!
#Fediverse, I need your help.
I have a budget for a small contract to improve #Emissary, and am looking for a talented web designer to create a new default theme for the server.
Highlights:
* Probably ~60 hours of work
* Anywhere in the world
* Must be a good person

Well folks, I was laid off last week. If anyone knows places hiring for any of the following, please let me know. I'm located in Seattle, Washington, USA and am also 100% open to remote work irrespective of timezones.
My company is hiring for two roles, a senior developer and a UI/UX designer.
If you're interested in a part time, fully remote, time flexible role on a values-driven site to help a marginalized community, I think it's a great opportunity- but then again, I'm biased.

I'm searching for a job, on-site or remote. If you're hiring, please DM me, or at least send me a link or two? Please?
Please #BOOST

And tagging #FediHire and #GetFediHired for visibility. Hi, IT gang!
I'm hiring an IT staffer, FTE, onsite in San Francisco. We're transitioning from tiny startup mode to small business and hiring lots of less-technical staff. I need someone to manage onboarding/offboarding, deploy Okta across the SaaS products we use, service requests from employees, and otherwise help automate All The Things so that doubling headcount doesn't mean doubling the amount of manual work.
You'll report to me and we'll tackle these things together. DM for more info. Please boost!

well hello, I would really like to #getFediHired
I have 7 years of experience at Microsoft in cloud infrastructure, focusing on Kubernetes and devOps with additional experience around databases, front end, algorithm design.
I am a skilled technical communicator and used to working across teams and even across companies. I have experience teaching people new to or experienced with technical topics.
Documentation and maintenance are passions of mine, and I want to ensure that not only do shiny new systems get built, but that they are documented, maintained, and can be monitored.
I've done considerable work in LGBTQ+ and accessibility education and love to find the places where these topics shine a light on technology.
Please reach out with leads. You can see my resume here: https://leecat.art/resume

Ways you can help me write again:
💰 Deposit a living wage in my bank account.
💼 Help me find a job opening with a fitting position.
Hire me to write for your organization!
I need to write again. I have so many ideas. But there are so many steps for me to complete before I can write again.
It would be much faster for me to write again if someone just hired me so that I could write for them. Just saying.
In my year at Privacy Guides:
📰 I wrote 28 articles, including some long-form investigative essays.
✊ I designed and developed an entirely new section for the website, with long-term plans to develop it further.
🧰 I wrote 25 short tip-articles for the first tool of this new section, the Privacy Activist Toolbox.
📗 I researched and put together a directory of Data Protection Authorities worldwide (including 89 regions), to facilitate public access to report privacy violations of their local privacy laws.
👕 I created 4 designs for the merchandise store, including an elaborated unique vector line illustration.
🗣️ I wrote over 100 social media posts to promote our projects, articles, and videos.
💛 I engaged with our community to answer questions and provide resources.
If you want me to do the same for your organization, I'm currently available for a new opportunity!

RE: https://mastodon.social/@joshgotfried/116532946187490174
Hey folks, Josh is a friend of mine here in Ireland who’s looking for an internship (paid, ideally). He knows his stuff (he grokked Kitten in a few minutes as I was demoing it to him and actually found and reported a bug that same evening) and he cares about working on tech that matters. If we had the funds, I’d hire him in a second. He’d be a valuable addition to any team.
Please feel free to reply to this or directly to him + I’d appreciate it if you boosted this for reach.
Thanks!

hey so. looking for a job (NZ or fully remote willing to hire a kiwi) in SRE, security, or linux/Unix system administration. 15 years experience administering Linux and Unix boxes, intermediate level of experience working with docker compose and containerisation and container security. No prior job experience unfortunately, all those 15 years were mostly personal projects and small-scale stuff for friends. I'm also 26, so I started when I was 11, explaining the no jobs so far. Currently running an entire multi-machine personal cloud infrastructure with a demonstration of all the services I have running at https://status.highenergymagic.net. Three machines, 72 docker containers. One running most of them, one running Mastodon+glitchsocial, one running the uptime monitor. encrypted root on ZFS, alpine linux, gVisor on supported containers, plan to move to Kata. Entirely willing to accept entry-level job placements, no expectation of being paid a lot or anything, just want to be doing something and move the needle a little on my current "being broke" status. Currently using gVisor, docker compose, and kata containers in production, experience with Linux, docker, Net/Open/FreeBSD, Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, Mikrotik and UniFi, configuring and administering Asterisk, plus extensive experience with IBM AIX and Sun Solaris. #fedihired #infosec #cybersecurity #linux #unix #docker #sre #DevOps #GetFediHired

goddammit! 🤬 I’m just trying to catch up on the latest
in US gov infosec & stumbled onto (yet another) compromised website on a subdomain of a very large org that’s serving content not at all related to their “business” so I guess I’m now gonna do some unpaid labour & spend a couple of hours today finding the edges of the shitfuckery & writing it up & contacting them about it… 😩 (I’m pretty sure that they don’t know that someone stood up a new web server on an old unused subdomain, so y’know, situation normal 🤪)
and it’s an organisation that I quite dislike too… 😕 🤬
I guess I’ll get a blog post out of it though, so that’s something right…? 🫠
ah well, the downside of being really good at web search to find non-paywalled articles on things I hit a paywall on include regularly finding weird stuff on people’s websites that they have no idea is there – so many website “management” teams are asleep at the wheel / clueless about monitoring their sites for security issues 💁♀️
and I’m looking for a new gig rn so maybe this is how I #GetFediHired and someone will hire me as their “Queen of GoogleDorking” or something… 😆
Looking for a human translator to convey your human words to a human audience? Maybe that's me!
I translate from Swedish, French, Norwegian and Danish into English (mainly UK but US possible depending on the text - I also work with a USian translator as a team where required). I'm a full Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting for both Swedish and French.
I'm also an Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading – in other words, I offer proofreading/editing/copyediting services too.
Oh, and copywriting!
I work on everything from press releases through sustainability reports to novels. Particularly fond of archaeology/history (got to get use from my MA somehow) and personal development, but really I'm interested in almost everything and translation allows me to be a nerd about all kinds of things.
The subjects I *don't* do are legal, financial and medical.
