Is anyone looking to hire someone with lots of experience in data analysis and statistics, possibly as a software developer? Specifically related to data science, data engineering or backend development.
I have five years of experience modelling biological processes and data using statistics and more general mathematics as a computational research scientist in stem cell research and writing software to that end. Last year I pivoted to modelling industrial processes and developing our in-house Rust/R/Python/Julia software instead. Unfortunately my employer has now decided to restructure and is letting pretty much all of us go.
I am a fast learner and I have been told that I am an independent problem solver with high initiative. I am located in Mannheim, Germany, I am looking for either fully remote positions or things around this region.
Bonus points if a job features trains or typesetting as I have spent a bunch of time with train schedules, time tables and typesetting personally.
Welp, it's official.
I had to let go of a client today because they are *all-in* on the slop machines…Claude to be precise. They intend for it to be integral to all code going forward.
I told them I can't do it. I won't do it!
Which leaves me in a real bind because the one major client I have left simply isn't able to pay all of the bills. A real strain on my finances…yikes. 😕
Anyhoo…good news is I'm ready to contribute real senior Web Dev expertise to your next project! 😅 #FediHire
#getFediHired #fedihire #fedihired will all help the👆 above job offer find the right fedizen.

A related team to mine is hiring for a position in Ottawa to work in Xcode/SwiftPM. Check it out! #FediHire #GetFediHired #Xcode #Ottawa https://jobs.apple.com/en-us/details/200612326/software-developer-xcode-and-tools
Welp. I just found out my contract isn't being renewed for August, so i'm out of a job in ~2 weeks. If anyone needs a full-stack web developer with an emphasis on content management systems (particularly Craft CMS and ExpressionEngine, but i can work with just about anything), i would really like the work! I'm open to contract or FTE, whichever.
I've just been made "at risk of redundancy", so it looks as if I need a new job. Any leads around Bristol / Gloucestershire / UK remote for a software developer? I've done mostly web, some Windows and mobile, full-stack from SQL to SVG.
#FediHire
Hey #FediHire , meet @Dominicd3213
He's an embedded systems and #fullstack #developer who loves making machines move and websites work. By day, he wires up #Robots with ROS 2, #arduino and LIDAR; by night, he wrangles #react #TypeScript and #MongoDB into sleek, responsive interfaces. Built #AI chat tools, and co-founded a trading platform.
He lives where code meets circuits, and believes great tech should be powerful and weird.
Anyone need a bright young guy like this?
I have availability for social media strategy and/or social media management right now, so if you want to build the Fediverse into your ethical social media strategy because you're a business owner who cares about not being on platforms that think hate speech is awesome, hit me up.
Boosts appreciated!
If you post a job opening on the Fediverse, please make sure it includes the salary range and location.
Salary ranges are mandatory by law to be shared with job posts in some jurisdictions.
Also, we're way past that bizarre game to waste everyone's time by trying to guess what each other is willing to pay and work for.
This is just silly and unprofessional.
Advertise your salary range.
Just wrapped up high school and exploring what's next! You probably know me from Altbot (the accessibility bot that helps make Fedi more inclusive), but I also build terminal tools, AI integrations, and love working on anything that improves user experience.
Looking for opportunities in full-stack dev, UI/UX, or accessibility-focused roles. Strong in Go, Python, C#, Web, 7+ years Linux experience, and passionate about open source. My projects have thousands of users and I'm always thinking about how to make tech more accessible, inclusive, and user friendly for everyone.

Boosts appreciated!

No particular cert or experience gatekeepers.
Pay and work environment is good.

Hey here's a job posting for a Data Integration Specialist at a company doing good work decarbonizing electrical grids
I know someone who works there and likes it!

You have to be able to work in Canada and it's remote friendly.
There is not much happening work-wise in Southern Finland, so I decided to look further afield for a job. And since I'd have to travel far away, I thought: "Why not try to get a driving job somewhere beautiful?".
Therefore, dear #FediHire community in #Norway: do you know any #transport companies that would like to take a driver from Finland on?
I've been driving in the Scottish Highlands for many years, and I am used to narrow, mountain roads:
We're looking for consultants who have leadership skills and technical expertise in the areas of one or more of:
1. Network management systems
2. Virtual and physical network interfaces
3. Security incident and event monitoring
You don't need standards experience. Your job is leading a group of people with standards and technical expertise who will contribute to the standard.

Some professional news:
1. I’m now a Special Rapporteur for the Cyber Resilience Act.
2. My company is hiring EU subcontractors with network and security expertise!
Bow Shock Systems won a contract with ETSI to lead development of "vertical" cybersecurity standards for specific products. I'm leading the one for operating systems.
We're looking for people with technical expertise and leadership ability to lead three other verticals.

I’m looking for a new job as my company will be reorganising soon. I do software design*, user research, product management and have hired and managed teams of designers and developers.
Looking for something senior but I like the mixed nature of startup roles because I still like doing actual hands-on design. I’m in the UK, where I live means a remote role is best. Boosts welcome.

#FollowTheMoney 🧵57/n
This LinkedIn post resonates … wanted to share here just in case there are others who are in this situation too.
Also one reason I hardly ever add to this 🧵any more is that, of course, I am literally trying to #FollowTheMoney, or rather, divert some from somewhere to my bank account😄 #JobSearch #FediHire
Do we know any book cover designers, mastodon crew? Portfolio links appreciated. Thriller genre or adjacent.
#FediHire #GetFediHired ⬅️ Dunno if this is a misuse of those hashtags. Happy to remove if so.

My team at #redhat is looking for a software engineer to work on netobserv [1], and potentially other related projects: see https://redhat.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/fr-CA/jobs/job/Raleigh/Senior-Software-Engineer---OpenShift-Networking_R-047995?q=network%20observability
Don't hesitate to reach out for any question!
I'm looking for #freelance work right now and all the offers are shit. Like "you have a STEM degree, work in our call centre" kind of shit.
And, of course, the "train our AI" shit.
I just want to write articles about cool biological research and ancient gays with decent pay, please.
Ok, let me put this straight. I am not in a critical situation. Like I have a job right now, and they are not going to throw me out. At least so I hope 😅
But, yet another day, yet another daily, yet another "I have literally nothing to do".
There was some talking about helping with some other stuff the other person in the team is doing. But this set of tasks is being stuck as well, due to dependency of some resources unavailable. It's already a running joke in the team.
So, if you know about vacancy in a place who needs a Linux engineer, I'd be glad to know.
I am kinda Linux generalist (with some exceptions, see below).
What I would like to do?
Get back to C++, if possible.
Get into bare metal embedded (no experience at all).
What I do not want to do?
Frontend for webdev.
What is currently hip, and I have no idea about? Containers and cloud. Absolutely no experience with docker/kubernetes. The same for AWS/Azure/whatever. However, I can catch up if necessary.
What I know (more or less) about: C, C++, perl, python, shell, github, Jira, integration, testing, some network protocols, networking in general, SQL, SQL databases.
I did some sysadmin/netadmin/maintenance jobs in the past
I am a sucker for a quality code and good design. And - depending on the workplace - that could be considered as a merit, or a flaw.
Kinda jack of almost all trades.
I am currently located in Eindhoven, but relocation to other Dutch city is possible.
I would prefer to say in The Netherlands. But for a proper opportunity I can relocate. I am a citizen of an EU country.
