The other night, I drove the Lancia Stratos in Assetto Corsa Rally. I've previously never been all that interested in it. Not for any reason, it just sat on the back benches waiting it's turn.
Hell, I was not disappointed. The car tries to kill you when you're not looking. Turn a corner too hard? It'll kill you. Put your foot down too much? It'll kill you. Try to slow down too much? You guessed it. It's like an angry wolf on a lead- you've got to keep it in check, else it'll eat you for dinner. Dare I say it... I actually drove it pretty well?
A singing Ferrari engine in this era of body with pop up headlights? I'm sold. I love it. More to follow, maybe a video.

This 1956 VW Beetle is a time machine. Always garaged. The current owners have had it around 20 years, bought from little old lady so low mileage. The interior is all intact and original, even the seats aren't cracked. It's been washed twice in 20 years. Just amazing!

It was Erik's big debut! We were literally screwing the last few bits on him the night before. He still has an oil leak, hopefully get onto that this weekend.
But he was hugely popular and had lots of people come check him out. People were even interested in Frank, I've never had so many compliments about him!
They are both painted Mars Red, and we discovered there's variances in VAGs Mars Red from the 70's to the 80's.

Now #local #elections are back on in my region, the #GreenParty really needs to step up its campaigning to avoid #Reform or worse fash parties gaining a further foothold.
Its not going to be easy as #Suffolk and #Essex are some of the most car-dependent parts of #England - Greens really need to fight back hard against paranoia and conspiracy theories levelled against them and reassure #motorists they are not going to force everyone out of their #cars if they still drive #petrol and #diesel vehicles and pick more realistic timescales for phaseout of these.
As much as I dislike "leaving things to the market", the reality is spare parts for older cars (15-20+ years) are getting hard to find anyway unless popular with enthusiasts, whilst EV's are steadily rising in popularity..

February is cub season for badgers.
Mums with babies only ever go a 500metre distance from their cubs.
If you see a badger newly dead by the roadside please check for lactation (bare area around swollen teats on her underside).
Her cubs have 24 hours before they leave the set in search of mum, and they will die of hypothermia.

My friend Ken drove his 1931 MG D-Type to our MG club meeting last night. It was 24F outside. The MG doesn't have recent automotive developments like "roof", "heat", or "windows".
Ken is considerably braver than I am.
