I am peripherally involved with an incredible #EMFCamp installation and I am very excited about it

I am hyped for #EMFCamp, just been rooting through storage to find stuff I need. Bringing a bunch of queer engineering friends for who this will be their first time and camping with them and I'm loving their excitement too!

@volunteer is is the first time in recorded history that the volunteers are storming the shifts?

I think, it could act as pivotal evidence in the "what about the UBI" discussion.

I know that a lot of my toots recently have been around #EMFCamp, and I have been retooting EMF related messages. I realise that for people that can't make it, either because of other commitments, finances, or being too far away, that you may not appreciate these messages.

Well, don't worry. EMF is going to be rubbish. Nobody there will enjoy themselves. In fact, to relieve the boredom, some people might make up stories about fantastically impossible things. It's all just going to be a bit crap all around, so you should feel lucky you can't make it.

Goddamn I'd love to do #emfcamp last-minute, but I'm booked up all that weekend with gigs. Bleh.

The #emfcamp volunteer registration system is open! I highly recommend doing a volunteer shift if you haven't before.

You get to meet new people, and you get a free meal from the volunteer kitchen in return which is 1000% worth it - the food there is amazing and caters to every dietary restriction. Plus if you volunteer for two shifts you get a voucher for a guaranteed ticket for EMF2028.

2024 was one of our smoothest years ever because so many people volunteered!

Does covering your tent with a space blanket actually work to keep it cool in the mornings? I've never tried it before, and most websites say yes but I've found one (https://tentexplorer.com/how-to-keep-a-tent-cool/) that seems quite insistent that it makes it worse by conducting heat instead of reflecting it, unless you rig up a contraption to suspend the blanket above the tent. #emfcamp

Note: this is just for the live-in vehicle parking space, it doesn’t come with a ticket for an actual human attendee. Unless you’re really good at impersonating a camper van and don’t mind staying in one exact place the whole weekend.

Unbelievably the thing that was clashing for me with #EMFCamp has been cancelled, so I'm now moving from the 'Awww I can't go to EMF Camp' state to the 'Awww I haven't got a ticket to EMF Camp' state.
