          Since some folx asked for pics, here are a couple just for posterity. I got some during a visit to the lot to retrieve the rest of the belongings from inside. The ones from the incident have too many faces.

          I'll reiterate that everyone came out of it okay as far as I'm aware.

                                  I took my 1950 MG TD out to a Michigan MG T-Series club meeting last night. I have a few small repairs and some maintenance to do before I can drive it much, but it’s good to have it back on the road. Such a pretty car.

                                      Hypothetically, if someone got T-boned and the air bags went off, smoke in the car, etc. car needed to get towed. Would it likely be totaled?

                                      I'm (hypothetically) trying to determine if I need to be looking for a replacement car or trying to rent a car while the insurance process runs it's course. It's unclear if insurance would cover a rental loaner based on the policy document.

                                      Edit: Thank you everyone! I appreciate all of your helpful responses and accounts of experiences with numbers and timelines. It's very helpful to have a better idea of what to expect.

                                      One conclusion is that this vehicle is extremely likely to be totaled so I should be directing my energy towards finding a replacement (hypothetically)

                                        I know young lads who drive often get a bad reputation (and middle aged men more so!) and has a lot of problems - but to their credit, groups for enthusiasts (especially ones) are one of the few places you don't get a fuckton of casual and supporters everywhere (they are even more wholesome than forums) - although I am slightly cynical and do wonder if its because there are so many / + lads on there no one wants to piss them off, they are a source of good advice and used and

                                        The worst you see is well meaning USA folk replying with valid advice but in strange units (like quarts of oil, ft/lbs for torque when everything on a car is in since 1970s!)
