                        The Courts *could* go in harder - but there will be a backlash of piss tricking down from the CEOs of the finance companies all the way to the forecourt, folk who can pay cash will still be able to get nice motors, groups with lower income but reasonable credit ratings (who at the moment are taking advantage of relatively easy to get ) will be competing amongst each other (and immigrant communities who need transport) for whatever they could buy at cash price (often old sheds that are battle scarred and have barely scraped through MOT).this is the sort of thing which is going to push folk even closer into the arms of Reform UK (whose supporters constantly parrot the conspiracy theory that "left" governments only want the rich to drive )

                          I'm no fan of Reeves or Starmer or the finance companies, but from my own experiences buying on (since 2019) and even inspecting the of a in my region which went bust a few years ago I think the Supreme Court's decision was pragmatic - there's still opportunities for , but anything harsher would result in the finance companies walking away from the market, preventing younger working folk having access to reasonable cars, stalling the adoption of EVs amongst this generation (few could afford to buy even a used one at cash price!) and causing medium size independent dealers (who depend on the finance company to finance their stock) to go out of business (there's already many closures and layoffs as it is!)

                                                                This car is what happens when Lee Iacocca makes a deal with Alejandro De Tomaso: The Chrysler TC By Maserati, an Italian-made sports coupe/roadster for Chrylser to challenge Mercedes Benz, built on the Chrysler “K” platform.
