Every two years,
the spiders of Eastnor Deer Park

For five days they watch four thousand nerds build a village out of kindness, blinking lights, amazing ideas, capacitors, and, once, an orphaned radioactive source.

Then?

The humans vanish.

In the sudden quiet, the spiders sit,
nestled in the dry, forgotten grass,
digesting everything they have learned.

By next EMF they will be wiser, and also

I have never, ever seen the EMF team this energised so soon after the event. People are already seriously planning 2028.

Have been informed that someone did a 15 minute livecode music set entirely made from an airhorn sound, accompanied by live Microsoft Paint visuals.

I find it hard to explain what the festival we run is about, and may it get ever more difficult to describe. #emfcamp

That's this year's #EMFcamp spiders released into the house.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable festival, met great people and saw some wicked stuff going on over the weekend.

Thank you everyone for playing with our diggers and I do hope everyone had fun. It was very enjoyable to build and watch. Learnt a few things about grades of sand too!
Best efforts will be made to heatproof the infinite potato and I'll see you all again in a couple of years!

Never before have I been somewhere where so many people clearly felt comfortable being their true selves. If only everywhere else was so accepting. Nicely done #emfcamp - keep up the good work!

As many of us begin the journey home from #EMFCamp, full of hope and learning and love, timelines across the fediverse begin to return to normal.

I shall leave you with one final thought for now.

Just been informed that the #emfcamp closing ceremony was broadcast via satellite TV across Asia and some of Europe, so that happened.

Duckfriend update - either we've got more than a tenth of #EMFCamp playing https://duckfriend.online, or there are currently no players found. Either way, my mind is blown.
