from next door popped round, he wanted to digitise his old training videos from when he was an apprentice, but was having trouble with old VCR and capture hardware and asked me to help.

I was able to test VCR on the telly in our training room with a SCART cable so at least that works, it seems his SCART to phono adapter is wrong way round (input rather than output), I showed him where to get a switchable one from

When these are done I will try and get the video files so they can go on

      Tonight I learned that when my electric car gets down to 5% battery, it sounds an alarm.
      And that when it gets down to 4% battery, it sounds a louder alarm.
      And that when it gets down to 3% battery, it engages 'limited performance' mode and shows a picture of a tortoise.
      And that when it gets down to 2%, and you've already turned off the heating and the radio and you're wondering how much power the windscreen wipers are using... that's when it stops showing you it's estimated range.
      Fortunately, I then only had half a mile left to go. But for a while there it felt a little bit hairy!

        I'd guessed at the involved in the recentserious / with a at (4 fatalities, 4 injured across both vehicles) being (ambient light pack isn't stock for that era of car (2013))

        Not sure if journos are 100% correct, car from RTC registered as bog standard 1.2 TSI (which *would* likely make 122 mph on stage 2 remap, even stock motor can reach those speeds if pushed), figures quoted are more for Cupra Leon with EA888 engine.

        There is also a post from the tuners (one was deceased lads brother, and had warned him not to drive too fast!) with details of mosque and their funeral arrangements.

          just remembered how last year a work colleague in needed two new on the fleet car she was using - I recommended the tyre garage near the library and the second hand bookshop as it was part of same group (Hadleigh Tyres) I'd used for last 6 years with good results.

          She got the tyres, and submitted invoice for the expense claim. I was initially a bit confused, as the address given was 200 metres away from where I remember the tyre garage being.

          Turns out that Hadleigh Tyres do indeed have *two* branches in Felixstowe, not at all far away from one another and *both* are busy and doing well (an indictment on the state of the roads in that town)

                                Making a of himself - this chap (a in ) is wearing for the purpose of his video.

                                He is carrying out the relatively harmless act of covertly filming buying 5 litres of (garages often don't like you using mobile phones) to take back to his workshop and check there is 5 litres in the can (indeed there was - not sure what he was expecting to happen, Trading Standards regularly check filling stations!)

                                I've got 3 spreadsheets and notebooks of receipts since 2019 (spanning 3 different ) where I've been monitoring fuel consumption and I've found nothing to suggest that petrol pumps across East and SE are delivering anything other than correct amounts (within tolerances that allow)

                                          This with our second car of Honda Clarity means we should almost never need gas again.

                                              Luckily I had spare centre caps which originally had misaligned fox head logos (they are supposed to point towards hole for the bolt and tyre valve), wheel suppliers sent me replacements.

                                              I planned to put VW centre caps on them but removing original logo with isopropyl alcohol to soften adhesive made ABS plastic patchy and the pick I used gnarled it up slightly.

                                              Sanded them down, set up a mini spray booth in a corner of the office using a cardboard box from a monitor to prevent overspray gave 2 coats of Simoniz plastic primer, 3 coats of Hycote Satin Black and a bit of sanding (to remove dust specks) and cleaning with neat isopropyl (to dull the gloss slightly) and left them to cure for a day - fitted them to this evening

                                                Although service station was near empty on Christmas Day, I arrived at only to find some blighter had nicked one of my fox head centre caps from the rear left - I had parked in a quieter corner near the back to avoid other cars being too close, maybe next time I should park nearer the EV chargers as there's more foot traffic there which might deter such things.

                                                You would have to have been carrying a 4mm hex key *and* own the same set of alloys to even want this - its the kind of petty that would have happened back in the 1990s (probably from someone coming back from a rave who had overdone the drugs)

                                                At least they didn't nick the red anodised alloy bolt I ordered from up North (but I have spares of those anyway)

                                                      Transportation technology is constantly evolving. For every advancement made, there is a relic that falls by the wayside.

                                                      Old cars are taken for one last drive, and dumped in forests are left by rural roadsides. Trains and planes are relegated to redundancy.

                                                      Some lucky few are left in a barn, protected but still forgotten. Awaiting a chance to ride again!
