I met someone at #EMFCamp who had RFID embedded in her hand, including one that lit up. Super awesome IMO. (This is not news to me, just the first time I have seen it in person per se, in-a-person?)

I kinda want this.

What's the best way to go about that in the UK?

I gather there is also some way to embed payment NFC too.

Ok I've been trying to not let this get to me but this is ridiculous

Did anyone else with a vehicle at #emfcamp get approached by a kid asking for a go claiming that they were trying to have a go on every vehicle at EMF?

They asked for a go on the C5 promising they'd be very short, to the end of the road and back, so I let them, thankfully I had the foresight to turn off the power and just let it be pedal powered

They got to the end of the road and continued, so I followed and lost them, and couldn't find them for 15 minutes when it turned back up at the Nottinghack village, they were very meek about where they had been and I just told them off, they smiled and asked if they could have another go and ofc that was a no

Fortunately for them, I didn't notice that the break assembly was LYING ON THE FUCKING FLOOR, being dragged by the cable, on closer inspection it has obviously been flipped and crashed on to it's left side with gouges out of the plastic body (these CANNOT BE REPAIRED)

I have just spent the night servicing it, and sigh, yeah, damage all down the left hand side, left rear wheel cover is chewed up when it was pretty pristine, break disk is buckled (thankfully this is a retrofit, but still, how tf do you do that) bits are missing (rear mast grommets and battery holder clip) and there's an issue with the motor I am still tracking down

This really made me reach my limit, does anyone know this kid? I want to at least get them reported to EMF

Since a few people asked, here's the setlist for my closing DJ set on Sunday at #EMFCamp #Nullsector.

I had an absolute blast doing this one. In the months running up to EMF I put a shortlist of tunes I wanted to play together, but as soon as I got up there I was like "screw it, I'm just gonna run with whatever feels good" and didn't even look at the list.

I was far too distracted by all the shiny fun things to do it on-site!

I do now have an actual idea for something (useful!) I can write for it though.

The hexagonal EMF camp 2026 badge with 4 modules plugged in, three with LED filament on each with different shapes. The shapes are a planet, a spider and a rainbow. The fourth module of a different design has a yellow rubber duck that is glowing from within. The badge itself has a silhouette of a rubber duck on screen with concentric circles, provided by the hypnoduck app.

If you saw a talk on sunday afternoon and enjoyed it, its worth trying to track down the speaker and pass on your gratitude, they may not have had many people say it in the field.

I ran an installation this year at #EMFCamp - the NFC rubber ducks connected to https://duckfriend.online - and the joy and encouragement I got from @jonathanhogg and the team was palpable and brilliant. Love that events like this show that nerds do art, and that art can take many, many shapes!

One thing that was very nice about #EMFCamp this time around was having a talk slot earlier in the event.

Last time my talk was about half an hour before the closing ceremony. There was very little time for feedback from people.

This time quite a few people found me later and said they enjoyed the talk which was very lovely. Really helps to know it went down well and is worth doing again.
