Albert Park this morning for my 24th It's suddenly got a lot leafier than the last time we were here!

Really pushed myself this week, and ended up with a PB of 24:55 for the 5k!

My goal for the year was a sub-25 5k and a sub-1hr 10k, both of which I've done. So time to get the old running kit on Vinted!

(just kidding)

Randomly decided to go to Battersea this morning. Seemed to be a lot of funnel duckers and half expected to get token number one. (I didn’t.) Beautiful day. Now sat outside the power station, by the river, in the sun, drinking a well deserved coffee and eating a pain au chocolate. Lovely start to the weekend.

Goooooood morning Fedinaaaaaaaaam! I hope you are literally better than terrific this morning. So good it almost hurts but in that good sexy way (sorry to say sexy on the internet). For some reason known only to the christ-child, who is coming to save us from.... *checks notes*.... the people who worship him?....... I've been up and at 'em since just after 5. Dunno why. Just happens sometimes. I am full of vim and vigor and have cleaned the kitchen, had breakfast with two espressos, done the ironing, applied for 3 jobs and watched the news (don't bother). I am a machine! An unstoppable machine! I *might* have had too much coffee. Or I am the messiah. Either is equally possible. Right I'm off to sort my life out for then have an absolute roller coaster of a day with a replacement washing machine and 8 loads of washing. Hurrah! I love you. The end. X

I ran my first ever today: Tsurumi Ryokuchi parkrun in . It was a great experience - I can see what all the parkrun hype is about now! It's so cool that you can just roll up on a random Saturday in a random city and run a 5k! The volunteers were so friendly and enthusiastic, and the vibe was overwhelmingly positive. I definitely plan on doing more of these. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, and to those that ran, especially those who passed me in the final km, because I went out too hard (again 🙄)

On the tourism trail with the club this morning. Over the water to Wales to Rogiet (which I'd not been to before). Thursday's race still in the legs, I couldn't even match the pace even though it was a shorted distance. I might have been able to catch 1st lady if I hadn't had to retie my laces twice in the last km. Fastest of the year.

                          Running, listing, diarising [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

120 done. Hoblingwell? Hoblingbastarddifficult morelike. I suppose the thing with getting used to a couple of courses, is that when you do a new one that's a bit tougher, it kicks your butt all over the darn place. I SAID DARN, DEAL WITH IT. Doesn't help that I slept poorly last night and was awake a lot and had weird intense nightmares....then....

Up at half 6 to sort out the kitchen and the washing to take to a friends, made lunches and breakfasts (with freshly made pastries), iron 19s clothes for work, have a shower and shave, clean the coffee machine, somehow lose my running stuff I laid out FOUR DAYS AGO, deal with a difficult message from my eldest.....

Eventually made it into the car, spoke to eldest (all fine), got 19 to work in time to make it to parkrun, did a difficult but ultimately rewarding run and am now going to SIT STILL and drink coffee before going to do a bunch of washing at a friend's, then clean the house.... and I was going to do the garden, but a) it's raining and b) I can't be arsed.

I hope you're having a terrific and less chaotic morning. ❤️🙌

First with the new , which was really useful for keeping an eye on pace and helped me spot when I needed to speed up, or (more rarely) was going too fast. Finished at 33:56 although the official time was 34:01 (robbed!)

Within seconds of last week's time, and I think this week's training runs have definitely paid off. Found if I focused on my breathing it made it easier to ignore the complaints from my stupid legs.

Stewart this week for pacer week, although we both lost our pacers in the madness of the starting crush so that turned out to be pretty irrelevant!

I've said this before, but it's a great park. All kinds of weird nooks and crannies and something new to see round every corner. Unfortunately one of those things is quite a long hill, which makes this a much slower event than some of our other locals.

Still, I think this will turn out to be my new best time at Stewart, so now as reward I'll spend the rest of the day being even lazier than usual 👍

But it was comparatively difficult - 'undulating' they call it. Mix of trail, hills, grass, pavement and tarmac. Struggled a bit but pleased to have done a new course. Kicked my arse and I fell over, like an absolute LEGEND. Managed to do a James Bond style tuck and roll, and pretty sure it made everyone there want to marry me. Only my second (third) as tourist. But a good way to kick off our wedding anniversary. Despite all the stresses and pressures of life and work and family, it's lovely to still have something that's just for us that allows us to reconnect once a week. Even if she finds me maddening the rest of the time. Plus I suspect she secretly quite enjoys that she's fitter than me and I can barely keep up, so it's a nice opportunity for her to watch me suffer, taking pleasure in my pain and ultimately feeling sorry for me and reminding her I need looking after. Hooray for healthy relationships! Anyway I hope you all have a very marvellous and chocolate-centric day, for lo remembereth that jesus did lay an egg for your sins.
