              I can't help but feel his decision to buy the as an "investment" and mostly treat it as a garage queen contributed to this unfortunate - maybe had he more regularly driven it and maybe even taken it to Snetterton (not far away!) to check out its capabilities he might have realised its easier than you think in a high performance RWD to lose the rear end and go sideways if you put your foot down (and the tree *always wins*)

                            Turning, : the old was from - so it would have been a fairly decent brand (its a VW OEM supplier) but /something/ knackered it (maybe a pothole?) - and as its not VW marked it would have been already replaced once - I don't think the lads at the dealer in would have had much opportunity to hoon the car before it was sold even if they wanted to, they are in / which is full of low speed limits as well as cameras).

                            The magnet ring was still intact, so I used some liquid crystal sheet to show the fields (these are what makes the sensor work)

                            Note to self: remove bearing from the meeting table in the office *before* leaving tonight so its not still there on Monday 😁

Chassis 335450 later participated in the Mille Miglia Storica in 1980, 1990, and 1993 as well as the Winter Marathon in 2015, the Terre di Canossa in 2017, and Trofeo Primavera in 2024 before being acquired by the seller and imported to the US in 2025. The car is finished in gray over two-tone blue cloth upholstery and powered by a 1,089cc inline-four fitted with a single Weber downdraft carburetor. Gear changes are via a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission, and further equipment includes a center-mounted fog light, rear-hinged front doors, and 14″ steel wheels.
