      One article from *1980* mentions developments in - and even dual-clutch - and that AP (Automotive Products, a British company which already made an innovative 4 speed auto 'box for the and other smaller ) was developing a 6 speed model.

      Nothing much came of this development until almost 25 years later when and (formed from a company set up by AP in early 20th century!) picked up development and put the 'box in mass production in 2003 with the (my own car has a newer version of this 'box!)

        Snagged complete set of of Marshall Cavendish and partwork "On The Road" from 1978-1981 (in 10 binders)

        If you are you may remember your dad buying at least some of these if he was into (although to get the entire partwork would have cost about £300 (2026 money) in total, so relatively few people actually got whole set of 140)

        These were sold not only in but across countries where folk drive on the left, one cool thing is all units are first (with Imperial equivalents added afterwards)

        Fair play to the previous owner, it looks like they did definitely make use of the section on changing in engine 😁

                Ah, the FUN MG. So fun. So pretty. So immobile. I have waved the white flag of surrender. 🏳️ It’s off to Guy St. John’s British Car Spa and Rehabilitation Clinic for a laying on of hands more skilled than my own.

                (I have my suspicions, but Guy is suspicious of my suspicions. We shall see, but the bettin’ money is on Guy, who runs Guy’s Garage in Ann Arbor.)

                                                  if high street is "thriving" to the point folk are in dangerous places and arguing with one another in the street, surely its a sign its reached capacity and it wouldn't be a big issue if some folk do their shopping online instead, or if they have then just drive to Chelmsford, or if they actually live in the town consider another form of ?

                                                  I had a look myself and I suspect a big reason is folk simply being too stubborn/lazy to find the Council car parks and insisting they should be able to park in the middle of the High Street (its not the 1970s any more!)

                                                                            The car is a 15/60 and the "woke" engine is a BMC (British Leyland) B-series from the days when still had a industry *and* strong trade unions, so perhaps the meme is true 😁
